Session 5: Course Enrolments

Overview

The session focuses on adding a course enrolment to a student record in Paradigm. A brief review of Course Management in Paradigm from Session 3 which was about Academic Maintenance will serve as an introduction to this session. After the review, we will provide the basics of course enrolment and the terms and concepts related to this topic. As we progress through the session, you will gain an in-depth understanding of student course enrolment management, and you will have an opportunity to create a new course record and add a course enrolment to a student record.

By the end of this training session, you will have learned how to create and maintain course enrolments.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe and discuss the basics of course enrolments, and how all the terms and concepts associated with it relate to other data in Paradigm and to the government reporting mandate.

  • Practice and demonstrate the process of adding a new course enrolment in Paradigm.

  • Create a record that represents that a student has been enrolled on the previously created course.

  • Manage the course enrolments record (add, search, update, edit, delete, etc.)

In the introduction of this session, we will refresh you with the basics and maintenance of course records in Paradigm (Add, Edit, Update, Delete, etc.). This section is open to questions and discussions relating to course record creation and maintenance.

2. Student Course Enrolment

Duration: 60 minutes

Complexity: Expert

The student course enrolment is one of the key pieces of data in your business or institution, that needs significant understanding and management to ensure that it is configured correctly.

This section will provide you with an overview of the User Interface in Paradigm relating to course enrolments (the fields, data, and information required to successfully create a record), and the implications and requirements for government reporting. At the end of this section, we will also demonstrate the workflows for creating and maintaining a student record with course enrolments in Paradigm.

Any records created during this section may be raised for review at the beginning of the next session to ensure that the data has been entered correctly, for example, meeting the relevant government reporting standard.
