This page will describe and demonstrate a use case from Scenario 2 when using the Session Group and Class fields in a Paradigm Session event.

Overview

Students need to attend 2 sessions/lectures(Lecture A or Lecture B) per week as per the Scheduled Unit requirements. For example, the requirement is that if a student chooses to attend Lecture A1 on Tuesday between 8:30 AM-11:30 AM, then they must also enrol on the Thursday Lecture A2 between 8:30 AM-11:30 AM. They will be given another option, for example, to attend Lecture B1 on Tuesday between 3:00 PM-6:00 PM, the grouping rule is that they must enrol on Lecture B2 Thursday between 3:00 PM-6:00 PM.

NOTE:

You can add more lecture session options if required as long as you follow the same coding pattern as shown in the table below. The grouping session options must share the same class number (i.e. Lecture A1 & A2 (Class number 1), Lecture B1 & B2 (Class number 2).

Lecture A1 (Tuesday 08:30 AM - 11:30 AM) if the student selects this session then they will also have to enrol into the Lecture A2 (Thursday 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM session) - because they share the same class number value 1.

Lecture B1 (Tuesday 3:00 PM - 06:00 PM) if the student selects this session then they will also have to enrol on the Lecture B2 (Thursday 3:00 PM - 06:00 PM session) - because they share the same class number value 2.

Following the grouping rules, students will either attend the class on both Tuesday and Thursday morning classes (8:30 -11:30 AM) OR on both Tuesday and Thursday afternoon classes (3:00-6:00 PM).
