Scenario 4

This page will describe and demonstrate a scenario when using the Session Group and Class fields in a Paradigm Session event.

PreviousScenario 3NextScenario 5

Last updated 2 years ago

Overview

A scheduled unit is delivered either online or on campus. A student has the option to choose between these two delivery modes, however, if the student will select the on-campus lecture type, it will require them to also enrol on the Workshop sessions, and if the online lecture is preferred, it will require them to enrol to a one-time whole day online seminar conducted at the end of the semester. For an online lecture, it will also require them to enrol on a tutorial session every weekend, depending on which session they like. In this scenario, there will be 3 possible online tutorial sessions a student can choose from.

NOTE:

  • You can add as many possible predefined session combinations with different Delivery Mode as long as you code them following the same pattern as the scenario in this article. This way, the student can still see and choose from all the possible sessions you’ve created but is still restricted to choosing one of your predefined session combinations to a specific mode of delivery to proceed with the scheduled unit enrolment.

  • PARADIGM DATA ENTRY on Scheduled Unit: also note that in Paradigm, there MUST be a scheduled unit created for each mode of delivery (see ).

Paradigm Enrolment (Class Times) Screen

Once all your sessions in Rapla are successfully synchronised to Paradigm, you will now see the enrolment (Class Times) Screen, see sample screenshots below.

The student will be given two options, in this case, the same scheduled unit with two modes of delivery:

If the student will select the Online mode of delivery, the following sessions will appear.

If the student will select the On-Campus mode of delivery, the following sessions will appear.

SUCCESS:

In this scenario, the student can only select (only) one mode of delivery (Online OR On Campus) as you specified and select one of your specified session combinations to proceed with the enrolment of the scheduled unit.

Create the sessions with the following group and class values or as specified in the table above. Refer to for the workflow.
