Why is my Course not showing in the dropdown list?

User Scenario

You might question that the course name your institution offers does not show in the course offering dropdown list (as shown in the screenshot below). Note that this page happens right after the applicant clicks the NEW APPLICATION button, see Step 2 โ€“ Apply to Study using the Applicant Portal.

Solution

Assumptions

  • Assuming that all your Time Periods, Base Courses, and Scheduled Programs have been set and configured already.

  • The applicant who reports that they cannot see the Course in the dropdown list hasnโ€™t applied for that particular course offering yet (Applicants can only see the Scheduled Course that they havenโ€™t applied yet).

One of the reasons that your scheduled course is not appearing in the dropdown list (given that you think youโ€™ve already configured everything, as mentioned in the note above), could be the setting of the Allow Online Application field. This is a field that allows each institution to choose their course offerings to appear in the drop-down list (Yes - appear in the course offering dropdown list/available for applicants to apply, No - not showing in the dropdown).

To check your setting, go to Courses > Scheduled Courses, search for the particular scheduled course, and make sure that the Allow Online Application field is set to YES, and then click the SAVE DETAILS button.

Refer to Creating Scheduled Programs page for more details on configuring the Scheduled Course records in Paradigm.
