# Add Attachments to Base Units

This page will provide you with instructions on how to add attachments to Base Unit records in Paradigm.

The instructions below assume that the Base Unit record where you want to add the attachments already exists in Paradigm, *see* [Add Base Units](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/curriculum-management/workflows/manage-base-units/add-base-units.md).

1. Load the Base Unit record, *see* [Search a Base Unit record](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/curriculum-management/workflows/manage-base-units/search-a-base-unit-record.md).
2. Once the Base Unit record is loaded, you can either choose **Units** > **Edit Details** > **Files** menus on the side to get to the file attachments section or scroll down the page and look for the **ASSOCIATED FILE ATTACHMENTS** section. 
3. Click the **ADD FILE ATTACHMENT** button.

4. Refer to the [Base Units](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/curriculum-management/record-types/base-units.md) record type [Associated File Attachments Section](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/curriculum-management/record-types/base-units.md#associated-file-attachments-section) for a description of each field. Select the **Choose file** button to upload the file you want to attach

5. Click the **SAVE FILE ATTACHMENT** button.
