# Record a Final Grade to a Unit Enrolment

This page contains instructions on how to manually enter a Final Grade for a Unit Enrolment record

## Overview

Final Grades can be recorded for each Unit Enrolment record in Paradigm. A Unit Enrolment record has a section named **Academic Outcomes** where the outcomes of the Unit Enrolment are recorded.

## Workflow

1. Load the Student's Unit Enrolment record that you want to enter a Final Grade, *see* [Edit a Unit Enrolment record](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/student-enrolments/workflows/manage-unit-enrolments/edit-a-unit-enrolment-record.md).
2. With the Unit Enrolment details loaded, go to the **Academic Outcomes** section and enter the final grade details accordingly.
   * **Grade Description** - Choose the Grade Item from the dropdown list
   * **Final Mark** - Enter the Final Mark equivalent for the grade if required
   * Do you want to publish this grade for the student to view it immediately? Set the **Published Grade** field, *see* [Publish a Unit Enrolment Final Grade](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/entering-results/workflows/manage-results-per-unit-enrolment/publish-a-unit-enrolment-final-grade.md) workflow for more details.
   * Do you want to hide the published grade from the student until the grade is released and published on a specific date? Set the **Grade Release Date** field, *see* [Schedule a Grade Release Date](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/entering-results/workflows/manage-results-per-unit-enrolment/schedule-a-unit-enrolment-grade-release-date.md) workflow for more details.

3. If the Unit Enrolment is intended to be closed or completed, set the **Enrolment Status** field accordingly. Note that if the record is TCSI reportable, and the chosen Enrolment Status value is mapped to a Completion Status for TCSI reporting purposes, selecting that Enrolment Status and saving the record will automatically update and submit the record for validation by TCSI, *see* [Edit Student details](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/student-enrolments/workflows/manage-student-records/edit-student-details.md).
4. Click the **SAVE UNIT ENROLMENT** button to save the Final Grade record.

**SUCCESS**:

Saving the record will save the Student's Grade Description or Final Mark for this Unit Enrolment but not make it available to the Student to view yet. To make it available to the Student to view - [publish the grade](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/entering-results/workflows/manage-results-per-unit-enrolment/publish-a-unit-enrolment-final-grade.md). You also have the option to [set a grade release date](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/entering-results/workflows/manage-results-per-unit-enrolment/schedule-a-unit-enrolment-grade-release-date.md), where the published grade will become visible to the student on the specified date.
