Error Logic

If Student Family Name (E402) is not blank (null), then Student Family Name (E402) must not be '9999'.

Paradigm Error Resolution

This is generally caused by a reported Family Name that is not a text string, containing only symbols or numbers.

If the student has a Family Name and First Name, simply correct these details on the student edit screen.

If the student has no Family name or only has a Single Name, TCSI reporting requirements require the First Name to be reported as 9999 and only report the Family Name as the only name. How to record a Student's Single Name in Paradigm

Navigate to the student edit screen (Student → Student Details → Edit Details), and locate the field “Single Name”. If this field is completed, your student name information will be retained as normal, however, when reporting to TCSI, it will receive the First Name as 9999 and the Family Name as this Single Name. Your reports and data extractions will be retained as normal, and TCSI will also be happy with the result, see Student Name Requirements: Single Name
