# Update Students' Citizenship in Bulk

This page will provide you with instructions on how to update students' citizenship in bulk

## Overview

Student record status in Paradigm is dependent on the stage of their lifecycle in their studies at your business or institution. Keeping track of the status will help you organise your student records in the system and faster generation of student-related searches in the system.

## Workflow

1. Create a bulk list of targeted students you want to update the students' citizenship.

Choose one from the available workflows in Paradigm on how you can generate a bulk list of students [**here**](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/student-enrolments/workflows/manage-student-records/generate-a-bulk-list-of-student-records.md). Ensure that the workflow selected for generating a bulk list of students includes the **`Student Number`**`column`.

2. After your list has been generated, navigate to **Student** > **Student Details** > **Bulk Edit** menus on the side and go to the PERSONAL DETAILS section. 

Set the **Citizenship** field common to your created bulk list of students and click the **SAVE ALL STUDENTS** button to save your changes.
