Step 1 - Outline the Course Structure, Rules, and Requirements

To set up the Course plan / Constraint rules the following information will be required:

(1) Units Required to Complete the Course

Identify the units required to complete the Course. The units identified are crucial in the process of structuring the Course Plan. Categorise each unit as Core and Elective.

(2) Course Rules

Determine the constraints between units that you need to establish to govern the choice of units of Students who are enrolling via the Course Plan.

  • Units prerequisites, corequisites, core units, electives, substitute units, previous versions of units

  • Majors and Minors available within the Course structure

Also, consider the Credit Points requirements.

(3) Course Progression Map

After identifying all the units required to complete the course and their constraints or rules, create a Course Progression Map. The following can be considered as your guide:

  • Units recommended in each stage or semester

  • Available Elective Units

  • Credit Points requirements for each stage or semester enrolment
