The Student > Search menu allows you to search for student records based on various criteria such as the student's name, ID, or the institution they belong to (if you have multiple institutions). You can also order the search results and copy/download them for further use.
Another useful feature of the Search function is that it unloads the current record and refreshes the screen, which prevents contamination of records and enables you to work on a different record.
You can search for students using the following criteria

You can search for a student using the following criteria:
Student Number:A number that your institution allocates, to uniquely identify a student. A student number can only belong to one student.
First Name:The student's given name as it appears on the student's birth certificate or other identification and as entered in Paradigm.
Family Name:The student's family name or surname as it appears on the student's birth certificate or other identification and as entered in Paradigm.
Preferred Name:If specified by the student upon enrolment, how a student would prefer to be called and if it is entered in the system.
Previous Last Name:Any other last name or surname that the student has used or has been known to use.
Internal Paradigm ID:The system (Paradigm) generated a unique number once a student is added to the system.
DOB:The Date of Birth of the student.
Home Institution:The college, campus, or institution where the student is primarily enrolled and undertaking studies.
Passport Number:The student is required to provide their passport number when they are an international student.
CoE Number:Certificate of Enrolment number, Documents supplied to an International student as to the terms and conditions of their continued enrolment with the institution and course of study.
VSN:Victorian Student Number, a nine-digit number.
Status:The current status of the student's record can be one of Active, Alumni, Applied, Archived, Deceased, Deleted, Discontinued, Inactive, On Leave, Prospective, and Suspended.
Student TCSI UID:This field is part of the government (TCSI Reporting) as a unique identifier for each student record.
Order By:The field name to use, to sort the way the results are listed.
You can also copy or download the search results by clicking on the corresponding options located in the upper right-hand corner of the results table.
Students in the results list can be added to bulk list operations within the system, and you can also copy the selected email addresses for communication purposes.
