Block Students with Outstanding Fees

This page will provide you with the workflow on how to block students from accessing Paradigm if they have outstanding fees.

The following are our recommended solutions for cases when you need to block students from accessing Paradigm or some of the screens when they have outstanding fees:

  1. Preventing a student from being able to self-enrol and disable their login completely

  2. Raise a ticket if you choose any of the following solutions:

    • Set in the system a Course Enrolment Status that will block students from being able to enrol

    • You could at the course enrolment level set an enrolment status Enrolled - Not Financial. With this option, we can just add to the enrolment status and then add the status to the configuration of online unit enrolments. This might affect the reports where you have a filter on course enrolment status set as these course enrolments would not be set to Enrolled but you really still see the student as Enrolled.

    • Another solution we could do is add a field to the course enrolment level that lets you set if a course enrolment is allowed to be enrolled online this one we will have a code.

      • We now have a field (student_checkFinancialInvoices) that when enabled blocks students from using the course plan to perform unit enrolment when there is an amount owing on an invoice. The owing is determined by the invoice due date. Raise a HelpDesk ticket if this is your preferred solution.

    • Another solution is if the student is set to 'PROG_LOGIN_MESSAGE' as the progression status will also block the student. This may conflict if the student is also under academic probation.
