Adding a New TCSI-Reporting Provider with the same PostCode

New TCSI-Reporting Provider with the same PostCode

When you try to add a new Provider record in Paradigm with the same Post Code as your TCSI - Parent Reporting Provider, a validation error will come up as β€˜The Course on Campus Effective From Date E609 is before the Campus Effective From Date E609’ and making the Provider record as Invalid in TCSI and in Paradigm.

Contact the TCSI support team if this is the case (for any update on their resolution).

The following are the (suggested) workarounds for this issue:

  • TCSI recommendation - The reporting of a new campus at the same postcode would be possible if the Campus suburb (E525) was made unique to the second campus and not identical to the first campus, e.g. adding a special character at the end of the code

  • Paradigm recommendation - If you want the record to be set correctly and valid in TCSI and Paradigm, you can also create it with the wrong postcode get a UID and then put it back to the correct one. The same will work for the Suburb as well.

Things to consider when adding a new Campus or Provider record

When Adding a New Campus or Provider record

  1. Add the new Provider record, see Add a Provider Record. Set the Parent Reporting Provider field to your Main Campus or Provider record if it's a government/TCSI reporting Provider record.

  2. Add the following additional information to the Provider record:

3. The following are worth considering when it comes to the implementation of your new Provider records in the system:

  • Is the New Provider a TCSI (government) reporting provider?

  • Are you using the same timeline or timetable as your current Provider or Campus? This has a flow-on effect when it comes to your Time Periods and Rapla (if you will use Rapla when adding Sessions)

  • Will you be using Rapla when adding sessions? We need to setup the Provider records in Rapla to clearly differentiate between your campuses to avoid issues in the future

  • Are you using the same fee structure or fee rules?

4. Data Entry Notes when adding Courses, Students, etc. records in the system with your new Provider or Campus record:

  • When adding new records in the system (in the future) that are specific to the new Provider record, the Home Institution | Course Provider | Unit Provider field should be set accordingly.
