Resend Bulk Communications

This page contains instructions on how to resend bulk communications for cases when one or more fail during the sending process in Paradigm

Overview

From time to time some of your communication events will fail to send – they will have a status value of something other than Sent. This workflow contains instructions on how to resend failed emails without creating new communication events.

Workflow

  1. Make sure there are no records currently loaded in the system before following the rest of the instructions below. To unload any records in Paradigm, choose Student > Search menus on the side. This is similar to clearing any currently loaded data from memory.

If you want to add CC or BCC recipients, refer to this workflow: Sending Communications using the CC and BCC Recipients

  1. In the COMMUNICATION EVENT SEARCH section, type in the "Communication Name/Email Subject" (Please note that if you're using a specific email template, the Email Subject will automatically adopt the template's name.), set the Status Id to "In Progress" or to whatever failed status appears for the items that you want to resend, choose the Communication Type of "Email" and click the SEARCH COMMUNICATIONS button.

  1. Click the check box in the table header of the search results table to select all items that match the search criteria that you entered. This should put a checkmark in all checkboxes of the search results. Remove the checkmark for any items that you don’t want to resend. Click the "ADD SELECTED EVENTS TO BULK LIST" button

  1. After adding the events to a bulk list, click the EMAIL SELECTED RECIPIENTS WITH ATTACHMENTS button.

This will now start sending the email to each selected recipient again. The current status of each email is displayed under the Status column. Check the status values of the sent emails and investigate whether they need to be either resent or posted.

To check the email statuses, you can either go to Student > Communication: COMMUNICATION EVENT SEARCH section or via System > Email Events
