TCSI Error Code - 10356

Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) is after the Course Outcome Date (E592).

TCSI Error Description

Please check the Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) and the Course Outcome Date (E592) for the linked Course Admission record. The Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) must be on or before the Course Outcome Date (E592).

Error Logic

If the Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) is not blank (null) and Course Outcome Date (E592) for the linked Course Admission Resource record (UID15) is not blank, then the Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) must be on or before the Course Outcome Date (E592).

Paradigm Error Resolution

To resolve this error, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:

  • Check all TCSI-reported Unit Enrolments' Expected End Date or Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) against the Course Enrolment Expected End Date.

    1. Load the Student Course Enrolment record and navigate to TCSI Reporting > Get all student TCSI data menus on the side.

    2. In the submitted UNIT ENROLMENTS section, check the Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) values. Make sure that they are within the Course Enrolment Expected End Date or Course Outcome Date (E592).

    3. If there are Unit Enrolments' End Dates that are outside the Course Enrolment End Date, take note of the latest date and proceed to the next step.

  • Check all TCSI-reported Unit Enrolments' Grade Release Date

    1. Load each Unit Enrolment record, see Edit a Unit Enrolment record and check the Grade Release Date field.

    2. If there are dates that are outside the Course Enrolment Expected End Date, take note of the latest date and proceed to the next step.

  • Edit the Course Enrolment Expected End Date field

    1. With the Student's Course Enrolments record still loaded, navigate to Student > Course Enrolment > Course menus on the side.

    2. Go to the Expected End Date field and edit it accordingly. The date should be outside the latest dates that you've taken note of from checking the Unit Enrolments End Date and Grade Release Date.

    3. Click the SAVE COURSE ENROLMENT button to trigger a resubmission of the record to TCSI.

WARNING:

When changing the Course Enrolment Expected End Date to a date that is after the Unit Enrolment Grade Release Date, you may encounter the error: "Cannot update Course Enrollment record due to linked TCSI reportable Unit Enrollments with a TCSI Invalid status." To resolve this, follow these steps:

  1. If the current Course Enrolment status is set to 'Completed,' change it to a different status (e.g., 'Enrolled') first.

  2. Update the Course Enrolment Expected End date and save the course enrolment.

  3. Finally, change the course enrolment status back to 'Completed' to overcome this obstacle.

If the above scenario does not apply, also check if the Student has RPL/Credited Units:

A student enrolled with RPL units. RPL Unit of Study Outcome Date (E601) is coded after or outside the Course Outcome Date (E592).

If this is the case, you can delete the Unit Enrolments from TCSI (given that there are no loans involved), see Delete Unit Enrolment records in Paradigm and TCSI and proceed below on how to re-enrol the students as Exempt in Paradigm without being reported to TCSI.

Action: See the following screenshot on how to code the RPL units. RPL units do not need to be reported to TCSI. Go to Student > Course Enrolment > Units > Select the units that require to be set as β€˜Exempt'. Follow the highlighted steps from 1-10. Note that Steps 8 and Step 9 are chosen as a demonstration only. Choose a suitable selection. Click the SUBMIT button will update the records.

see Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Another way to RPL unit enrolments (given that the student hasn’t been enrolled on the units yet): Student > Course Enrolment > Units. Search for the scheduled units to be credited, select the unit/s, and click the ENROL SELECTED SCHEDULED UNITS AS EXEMPT button.
