## **Overview**

Adding a report to your dashboard can be a valuable way to access important information quickly. This guide will walk you through the steps to add a report to your dashboard.

## **Workflow**

1. **Create a New Report**
   * Start by creating a new report using the report builder, *see* [Build a Report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report).
   * Ensure you [save your report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-5-save-report) while considering the following fields:
     * **Permission** - Assign this to the user's permission level you want to grant access to the report
     * **Type** - Set this to **Dashboard Listing**
     * **Scope** - Select '**Private**' if the report is for your exclusive viewing, or choose '**Global**' if it should be accessible to everyone with the specified **Permission** levels.
     * **Status** - You can access the report in the Dashboard menu when its status is either '**Active**' or '**In Progress**'.
2. **Navigate to the Dashboard:**
   * Ensure that your logged-in user has access to the report based on security group, home institution, global/private settings, and status.
   * If your user meets the access criteria, the system will automatically run the report and load it onto the dashboard screen.
