# Add CoE to a Student record

This page contains instructions on how to attach a Certificate of Enrolment records in Paradigm.

## Overview

Certificate of Entry records can be tracked within Paradigm by adding them to a Student record via their Course Enrolment record. Refer to the instructions below.

## Workflow

1. Load the student’s record*, see* [Search a Student record](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/student-enrolments/workflows/manage-student-records/search-a-student-record.md).
2. After loading the student’s record, choose **Student** > **Course Enrolment** > **Course** on the side menu. In the COURSE ENROLMENT LIST section, click the **ACTIONS** button against the Course Enrolment record where you wish to add the details, and then **Edit COE**.

3. You will see a list of existing CoE records against that Course Enrolment under the CERTIFICATE OF ENTRY LIST section. To add a new CoE record, click the **ADD NEW** button.

4. Fill in the details. Fields with :heavy\_check\_mark:are required. Please review the notes below for the fields with the customisable dropdown list.
   * **Reason** - The list can be customised via the [Edit Code Items](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/system-configuration/workflows/edit-code-items.md) menu under the **Code Type Id** of `COE_REASON`.
   * **COE Status** - The list can be customised via the [Edit Status Items](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/system-configuration/workflows/edit-status-items.md) menu under the **Status Type Id** of `COE_STATUS`.
   * **Checklist** -  The list can be customised via the [Edit Code Items](/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/system-configuration/workflows/edit-code-items.md) menu under the **Code Type Id** of `COE_CHECKLIST`.
