# Step 6 - Format Report ## Overview The output format of the report can be generated in different data formats. Report Builder can produce your report in HTML, CSV, with Summary or in Summary format, Custom CSV, Excel, and JSON. Refer to the [Alternative Data Formats](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/advanced-report-builder/alternative-data-formats) page for a list and description of the possible data formats available in Report Builder. ## Assumptions Before you follow the instructions below, the following are assumed to be true: * You have already chosen a base or saved report and is already loaded into the system. If this is not the case, start with [Step 1 - Select a Base Report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-1-select-a-base-report) instructions; * You have already selected the columns (data or information) you want to be included in your report output. If not, refer to the [Step 2 - Add and Remove Fields](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-2-add-and-remove-fields) instructions; * You have already renamed and reordered the fields (if necessary and required) that you want to see in your report output, refer to the [Step 3 - Rename and Reorder Fields](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-3-rename-and-reorder-fields) instructions; * You have already added filters (as necessary and required) for your intended report output, refer to the [Step 4 - Add Filter Clauses instructions](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-4-add-filter-clauses); and * You have already saved your report (as you deemed fit) - [Step 5 - Save Report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-5-save-report). Note that you can also format your report and produce it without saving it first if you choose to. ## Workflow The instructions below assume that you are continuing the report that you built in Report Builder (in the process of formatting it). If you opt to run the report that you have [saved ](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-5-save-report)in the Reports menu instead of within Report Builder, refer to the [Run a Saved Report Workflow](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/introduction-to-report-builder/run-a-saved-report-outside-of-report-builder). 1. Choose a Report Output File and Produce the Report. After [saving your report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/build-a-report/step-5-save-report), you have the option to go back and review the details you’ve entered in the previous sections of the page, and when you’re ready you can now proceed to format your report and see the output. To produce the report, go to the **FORMAT REPORT** section of the page. If you lost the report on your current Report Builder screen, as long as you have saved it already - refer to the [Edit a Saved Report](https://docs.silverband.com.au/home/paradigm-knowledge-base/generating-reports/workflows/introduction-to-report-builder/edit-a-saved-report) workflow to load your saved report. 2. If you are just testing out a small number of columns and would just want to see if the output is right the fastest way, you can use the **Print Format HTML** option, else you can generate your report in **CSV** format.
