Allow Students to Enrol via the Course Plan

Overview

Students can enrol into units via the Course Plan if you allow them. There are variables that you can control when it comes to the Course Plan enrolment. Refer to the workflows below for the instructions and choose to follow whichever applies to your business requirements.

NOTE:

The workflows below assume that the Course Outline is already created for the Course or Program that uses the Course Plan for enrolment, see Manage Course Outlines.

Workflows

Make the Student > Course Plan sub-menu Visible

Enabling the Student > Course Plan sub-menu via the System > Menus Edit menus will make the Course Plan sub-menu visible to all Students who have access to the Student Portal. However, the Course Plan will only work if the Course that they are enrolled in has the Course Plan set up to allow online enrolment initiated by Students.

Allow Online Application at the Course Level

If you are using Scheduled Programs, search for the Scheduled Program that you want to allow online application, scroll to the Other Details section and select Yes on the Allow Online Application field, and click the SAVE DETAILS button. For all the other controls on the application details, continue below:

If you are not using Scheduled Programs, load the Base Course record, scroll to the COURSE APPLICATION DETAILS section and fill in the fields as necessary. Refer to the Base Course record type for a description of each field. Click the SAVE COURSE button to save your changes.
