Make a record Read-Only
This page will provide the workflow on how to make a record Read-Only in Paradigm.
Overview
Locking a record in Paradigm and making it non-editable to other users of the system is possible. A record with a Read Only field can be enabled by users who have the permission level with the Read Only (form field) set as visible and editable. The same set of permission levels can also unlock and make the record editable again.
Records with Read-Only field.
Paradigm by default has made the Read Only field available to records that are deemed necessary to be locked or set as not editable by some users for some reasons such as protecting them from data entry errors, etc. For more information please contact your "nominated contact person" or other Paradigm Expert in your business or institution or the Silverband Support Team.
Refer to the table below for a list of the records in Paradigm that can be made as read-only.
NOTE:
The details on the table below will depend on how your Paradigm is configured, the options that are made available by your institution; and the access level assigned to you by the "nominated contact person" or other Paradigm Expert, according to your permission needs.

Workflow
Open the page where you want a record to become read-only. For example, if you want a Studentโs record to be read-only, navigate to the Student > Student Details > Edit Details menus on the side.
Look for the Read Only field. This field is normally under the DETAILS section of each record in the system, e.g. STUDENTS DETAILS, COURSE DETAILS, etc. If you canโt find the field, refer to the workflow on how to make a form field visible.
Put a checkmark โ in the Read Only field and save the record. Upon saving, all the editable fields on that record will become read-only unless you undo your action.
