After matching the primary fields from Step 4, you are now ready to save your import profile and start the import process.
The section DATA MAPPING will provide you with a summary of the column numbers in your data source file and which Paradigm Field name they are saved in the system. The substitute values are also specified.
The section below DATA MAPPING contains the following options:
Choose how you want your Import Profile to behave if there are matching records in the system under the How do you want to handle matching records in Paradigm? section.
Do not Import (Only Create) β only create or add a new record when a matching record cannot be found in Paradigm, it wonβt edit or update existing records if it has found one
Only Update Records β only update the system when a matching record is found, it wonβt create a new record if it canβt find any matching records in Paradigm
Run import in debug Mode (Show query output to find existing records, but disable save)
Enable Debug Mode - enable this option if you just want to test running the import without saving the records in the system yet
Select the action button accordingly. The action buttons are defined as the following:
CHANGE FIELD MAPPINGS - This button will take you back to the page where you are allowed to change the field mappings. Refer to Step 3 page.
SAVE IMPORT - The save import button will save your import profile. This will serve as your reference when you import the same data group in the future.
PROCESS FILES - This button will start the import of your file into Paradigm. After it finishes, you will get a new section with success messages and error messages, and you can download either or both files (as shown in the screenshot below).
Update Records (Create and Update) β ( Commonly used option) when a matching record is found, the system will update the record, and when itβs not found, the system will add or create a new one
